The Certified ADHD Coach Practitioner (CACP) certification is awarded by the Professional Association of ADHD Coaches (PAAC), which was founded in 2009 to establish high standards of excellence in ADHD certification and accreditation programs. The certification is closely aligned with and modeled after the ICF certification, but especially tailored and refined for ADHD coaches. PAAC is the sole organization offering ADHD Coach certification.
The ADHD Coaches Organization, a nonprofit association created to advance the profession of ADHD coaching worldwide, is the professional membership association for ADHD Coaches.
ADHD Coaching, as with all Life Coaching, is self-regulated. Certification is therefore encouraged but not legally required. The Professional Association of ADHD Coaches (PAAC) offers the only independent ADHD Coaching Specialty Certification in the world. Only PAAC certified coaches may be listed in the ACO directory.
CHADD (Children and Adults with ADD) is a membership organization, produces the bi-monthly Attention magazine (for members), and sponsors an annual conference. CHADD was founded in 1987 in response to the frustration and sense of isolation experienced by parents and their children with ADHD.
